A new update was deployed today. The coolest thing about this update was that the learning skills were deleted and the skill points were refunded. I spend those skill points entirely on improving my defenses this will be beneficial during the war. Now I can go into battle and survive for a long time. The second thing that this update had was a free ship. This ship is a special ship that can only use codebreakers to unlock containers. I dubbed this ship "Codebreaker" because it seemed fitting for this kind of ship. The coolest thing about this ship is that there is a spinning radar dish that actually spins. I doubt that I will actually use this ship but its fun to have anyway...
As I fly through the vastness of space, I document my travels for all other pilots to see.

End of the War Dec
The war versus the Psychopathic Carebears didn't last very long. Most of the fighting was in a solar system very far away. They used alot of small ships like interceptors and assault ships. As well as a few battle cruisers for extra damage. We lost a few ships but we did fairly well. However, we are not out of the woods yet.. A new corp Corpus Alienium declared war on our alliance. So the fighting will continue..

Off to War!
I've only been with this new corp for almost week and someone decides to go to war with us! Its not exactly like this is a new thing for me but it would have been nice to be in the corp long enough to make some money so that I can actually go to war. As it stands now, Im not really in a war-like mood. My bank account only has about 1 million isk (interstellar credits or in-game money) in it so its not like I can really DO anything even if I wanted to. Although I do have war ships that I could use to fight, Im not in the mood to lose them. If something happens and I lose my warships, it will be very hard or outright impossible to get them replaced at this time. The real shame is that I recently was able to level up my my skills with my guns so that I can use the more powerful tech II type guns. I just needed the money to buy them. So I guess until that happens, Im going to be stuck at station..

Joined a new corp
After I left my old corporation, I had to find a new one. After seaching the recuitment channels I found Intersteller Minerals. Its a decent enough corp to join. They have a big alliance and they do low sec mining as well as high sec. Hopefully, Ill be able to fit into this new corp like I did the last one..

Getting Kicked from the Alliance and quitting the corp
Alot of drama in the alliance today. Apparently one of my corp members Slacir didn't like how the Alliance was doing operations and voiced his concerns. He was so unruly that the head of the alliance decided it was better to just kick our entire corp from the alliance! The problem is that I believe that being in an alliance is better than being by yourself. I felt that I got kicked from the Alliance for no reason and I want to continue to stay with the alliance. While Slacir may be the leader of my corp he doesn't speak for all of us. The alliance has resources that my corp just doesn't have. So I decided to leave my corp and try to re-join one of the alliance's corps. It's a hard decision to make but I feel that its a better one to make in the long run...

Joining an Alliance
I was talking to some of the other corp member about how our corporation doesn't have alot of members to do things. So I sent out recruitment messages to try and find more people to join our corp. I didn't find any.. However, I did find some people who are part of an alliance of corporations. They are interested in the same things my corporation is interested in so we joined them. The name of the alliance is Dark Chaos Legion. It sounds cool and theres alot of people in it. Now we have enough people to do some of the advanced stuff like wh mining as well as regular mining. I think good times are ahead!

Life as a space captain
Being a starship captain isn't all about the space battles and the really cool ships. Sometimes its just boring. I have to move some minerals around between space stations. Its boring and all there is to do is set the autopilot and watch a in-flight movie. The ship Im flying is what we call a "hauler" it looks like a flying hot dog in space but its used to transport materials from point A to point B. It isn't as glamous as blowing up enemy ships to smithereens but it is necessary to keep manufacturing goods. Haulers also are used during mining operations to pick up the ore that the miners have collected and transport them to the local station.

Capital Ship Production Begins!
A long time ago, I self-destructed a 400 million dollar freighter in order to prevent enemy pilots from getting my cargo and putting the kill up on the killboard for all to see. I've never been able to recover from that loss. Mostly for the fact, that it costs 400 million credits to buy one and I've never been able to get that kind of cash. However, I've been working hard at trying to build one! Well today all my hard work has finally paid off. I finally got the necessary skills to build the parts that I need to make a new freighter. Once the parts are completed, I can put my freighter together! The building doesn't stop there. If I continue my training, I can start to produce other capital ships like carriers, dreadnaughts, and capital industrial ships. However, that's not for awhile. In the meantime Ill settle for the Production Manager Certificate at Standard level. It's proof that Im qualified to build capital ships..

Solo Wormhole Mining
When you go mining asteroids there are certain types of asteroids that are rarer than others. These asteroids shown above are Arkonor, Bistot and Crokite. These ABC ores are the rarest and hardest to find asteroids in Eve. However, if you are able to mine them you can make allot of money. I'm talking about several 100 million credits easily. The only downside is that you need allot of people to get to it. I tried to mine some of the ore by myself however, I couldn't get allot of ore because I was just by myself. By the time I mined the ore and transported it to a safe location, I started to realize that I spent more time traveling than I did mining. It wasn't very cost efficient and so I decided to call it a night and log out.

Botched Mining Fleet
I was mining in the Dunraelare system and I meet a small fleet of miners. I start a conversation with this fleet and convince them that we should join up. It would be in their best interest if they did. However, as I start mining for awhile they will not haul the ore I have mined. They were afraid that I might accuse them of stealing or might try to start a war! Sadly, I felt it was in my best interest to mine solo and wait for Lovon to help out....

Garythe
Garythe is the CEO of our corporation. He has alot of experience and he has the cool patience of a trained killing machine! As you can see he is flying one of his favorite ships a Raven. Even though he's being attacked by huge hordes of enemy ships, he is taking his time loading up his many torpedo tubes. At the same time drinking his morning coffee and reading the morning paper. Its this cool collective calm that he is our CEO. If you see him in your rear view sensors, just remember that the torpedo you are seeing is closer than it appears...

Lovon
Today's a quiet day in the universe so Im hanging out with my corp mate Lovon. Lovon is an experienced miner who has been able to set up many different kinds of mining operations. You can usually see him flying his Orca. (Shown Left) Using his Orca he can oversee any mining op and give bonuses to the the miners working with him. Anytime I need to find him, I can usually find him in the nearest asteroid belt, mining away at the asteroids.

Fleet Ops
Today Im flying with some corp mates on a really difficult level four mission. With three pilots we made quick work of the mission. The best part of the mission was getting paid. Im just about to start making GIGANTIC sized capital ships. The only downside is that its VERY expensive! Im hoping that I will be able to make my Obby frieghter that I had to blow up during a previous war. I always wanted to get it replaced but its so expensive to buy one. Its like 400 Million dollars just for one! Any who, in the picture Im flying my Brutix Battlecrusier. My corp mate Slacir is to the left of me and he is flying a Myrmidon Battlecrusier. They are very cool looking ships!

Wreckage in Space
Today I decided to try my luck at scanning for hidden treasures in space. Its a key skill to learn if you want to find wormholes or rare ore. I found this one site that looked promising however, when I arrived I recieved the following message. As you can see all I found was the wreckage from some battle long ago. Who ever they were or who ever did this they are long gone... I was able to sift through the wreckage and find some salavage. It was kind of cool because I felt like I was in one of those old science fiction shows back on Earth....
Core Compentency Completed!
Today I successfully finished skilling up all of the skills that are the core skills in EVE. Basically these are the skills that included targeting, Energy generation, and Fitting. These are the basic skills that you need to learn to be come a great pilot. Since I leveled all of them as high as possible I can now start training on other things. I want to go back to my mining skills and start working on training the skills to process the rare ores. These ores are hard to find and hard to accquire however, they can easily sell for millions or billions ^^

A cool mission
I was doing this mission where I had to find some cargo and bring it back to my mission agent. I show up and blow up all the nearby hostile ships. After all the ships were blown up, I couldn't find the cargo. It was then I noticed this Bestower docked at a nearby space dock. I was thinking that there's no way nothing could be inside, but I had to be sure. So I blew it up and lo and behold there was the cargo I was looking for. So I grabbed the cargo and flew back to my mission agent for my reward. Im not a fan of the Amarr ships, personally I feel that they have no individuality as a ship. I feel that if you are going to pilot a ship it should be something that you are proud of and has some personality to it.

Low Sec PVP Op
Today I joined up with some corp members and we went into low security space to go hunt other people. I wanted to bring my interdictor but I couldn't use the interdiction system and I had to get another ship. I brought a super fast interceptor instead. After about 30 minutes of not being able to find any ships to attack we decided to camp out at a gate. That was a horrible mistake! Apparently, a bunch of enemy pilots found us and attacked us with a very large fleet of ships. I was the only survivor because I was easily able to outrun anyone who tried to attack me. Everyone else wasn't so lucky. However, one of the highlights of this PVP op was that I almost got to see a carrier for the first time. We detected the carrier but by the timeI arrived it already moved on. I would have liked to have seen that ship.....

Missioning
I was doing a mission today and I noticed that there was a Megatron Battleship being contructed at the shipyard. The Megatron is a great battleship because it does well at long-range combat. The best part I like about this ship is that it looks like a standard military ship that you might see today. If there was a ship that closely resembled a flagship of an armada this would be the ship. Personally, I don't know if I would want one because I prefer my Hyperion instead. However, both ships are great ships to have because they can withstand INCREDIBLE amounts of punishment and still be able to dish it out to the enemy.

My Training Plan
One of the things I'm working on is getting a new Jump Clone. A jump clone or JC for short is basically a clone of yourself. With this clone I can transfer my consciousness to the clone once every 24 hours. This is a good thing because my clone can be on the other side of the known universe and I can hop into my other self a lot faster than trying to fly from system to system. As it turns out the faction I was working with Astral Mining Inc. doesn't have the medical facilities to purchase JC's. However, I found another faction Duvolle Laboratories that does sell JC's but I haven't worked with them very much. So I'm working on raising my standing with them. I can then get my Jump clone that I want.
All in a day's work
Today I joined a small fleet with several other corp members. It was really fun! I was flying my Hyperion Battleship the Resolute. While everyone else was using a Myrmidon Battlecrusiers. Thats ALOT of firepower between the three of us. We did some high level missions out in Minmatar space. When we were done there where alot of wrecks and bodies in space. This poor soul got sucked out of the ship when his ship got blown up. Regardless, we made alot of money from the salvage and the mission rewards.
Later, I had to do a courier mission that was really hard. I had to transport the precious cargo deep deep into low security space. It was really dangerous because in low sec areas anything goes. Whats worse was that the cargo I was carrying was too big to load into my transport ship that had a cloaking generator on it. Luckily, one of the corp members volunteered to transport the cargo while I provided defense. Together we were able to get the goods to where they needed to go and get out safely.

Something you don't see everyday
I was flying a level two mission and I saw a bizzare billboard that caught my eye. It was a Narcotics supermarket! LITERALLY! In a univerese where everything from exotic dancers to nuclear weapons is for sale I shouldn't be surprised. But just when you think you have seen every thing that there is to see you come across something as unexpected as this.

Arriving at the Cistuvaert System
As I disembark from the ship a huge blast wave of heat and fire surrounds me. As I begin to explore this new world that resembles the gates of hell, I begin to wonder if I can survive on such a hostile world. However the ship was free and I was told that vast riches could be found on this inhospitible fireball if you look hard enough. So I set up a small base camp and begin to colonize this place. If I can survive here I can survive anywhere.

New certificate awarded!
After a long wait of 20 days, I have finally finished training the skill Advanced Weapon Upgrades to Lv 5. This is a very important skill because it allows me to receive an Elite Fitting certificate that allows me to use any valid module configuration with out fitting issues. I have been waiting a really long time to get this skill completed. Now I can start my training for the new planetary interaction stuff that came out!

Gone on a shopping spree
One of my friends was gracious enough to give me 100 million isk (ingame currency) combine that with a mining op with one of my corp members and we made about 120 mill from mining out two belts of astroid ore. So with my new found cash I located the closest mechant shipyard and I went shopping for new ships. I purchased my viator transport that got blown up, as well as my Brutix battlecruiser I lost while doing some missions. I also had enough money to buy a brand new Mackcaw or Mack for short. The Mack is basically for mining ice in the very cold reaches of space. I always wanted to try one and get an ice mining op started. I believe that good times are ahead!

Low Security Mining Op
Some friends of mine decided to travel into low security space and mine some really rare ore. For the most part the mining op went well. We focused on two different rare ores Jaspet and Hemophorite. We didn't get whole lot of ore because we were first attack by Thorax crusier and a Dominix Cruiser. We were able to handle them but the scariest part was when the pirates attacked. I looked at the info of one of them and the pirate was a full decorated war hero yet he was a pirate! Well some of us were unable to escape however we were able to save most of the ore that we collected so it wasn't a total loss. I think the worst part of this experience was looking at the pirate's medals for valor and the impressive kill record.

Salvaging ships
One of the great things I like about playing Eve Online is that after you blow up a ship you can salvage the wreck for parts. Its kind of my way of recycling stuff that people don't want anymore. The great part is that I can use the salvage materials to make modules that can modify my ship to shoot faster or fly quicker. The Catayst destroyer shown here is probably the best salvage ship that money can buy with 4 small tractor beams and 4 salvagers this ship can grab wrecks from 20km away and salvage it at 5 km. So its the best ship out there.

A New Day Is Upon Us!
Rejoice fellow pilots! A new era is upon us. The era of Tyrannis. We shall seek out new worlds full of life and there will be many resources for us to expoit toward our advantage. I promise you that the universe is ours for the taking. We will reap the fruit of our labor and become more successful that ever before. Make no mistake, other pilots will try to take from us what we have tried so hard to gain. Believe with me when I say that together nothing shall stand between us and absolute victory!

New Corp, A New Beginning
I was invited to a new corp by an old corp member from Pulse. The corp's name is Unlimited Freedom Corporation. Its alot smaller than Pulse Industries was. However, Im not at war with anyone and I get to hang out with really cool people.

Alone in Space
Today I find myself alone in the middle of an asteroid field. It feels so different now that I don't have a corporation to support me. I may not be at war any more but its hard to mine without anyone to haul or to have other miners with me as we chat and mine. I suppose its a price I have to pay but I don't necessarily like it. On the other hand Im not constantly looking over my shoulder for enemy ships and having newly fitted ships blow up constantly. Luckily this feeling of lonelyness will not last. I have been contacted by old corp members who will take me in. Hopefully everything will be all right...

My Resignation
Today I gave my letter of resignation to Pulse Industries. I did this because with all the wars that we constantly are in, it makes it almost impossible for an honest man to make money. I don't like it but I don't have a choice. With all the ships I have lost with this corp I can't afford to stay with them any longer. Its time to move on....

The Corp Strikes Back!
Today I was able get a small fleet of 3-4 corp member together and go hunt some enemy pilots. While traveling from system to system I happen to make friends with another corporation who is also at war with Interimo. Now with our combined fleet strength we are waiting for the signal to attack. When we attacked the enemy pilots had no chance. The universe is a harsh place that is unforgiving.....

Casualities of War
Today we formed a three person war party to find and kill some enemy pilots. We engaged one of the pilots however things turned out badly for us. The enemy pilot was flying a fast interceptor and was able to stall for time until his buddies showed up. In the end we find ourselves surrounded and no hope of escape. The last thing I remember is ejecting into an escape pod and watching helplessly as my beloved Battleship Resolute gets blown to smithereens.

War Preparations
Since this is the second war dec in 24hrs, I have taken it upon myself to try and organize some kind of resistance against these enemy pilots. Even as we speak my corp members are moving our warships to a top secret miliary base where we will launch an all out war upon our attackers. Nobody pushes us around and gets away with it!

WAR!!!!
Today we got war decced by another pvp corp called Interimo. This is a much smaller corp than the last one. They only have 14 members total. However, that doesn't make them any less dangerous. Its sad because we barely had 24 hrs of peace time. What's a pilot to do make money around here!? Its a dangerous universe we live in!

New certificate awarded!
Today I received the Standard Level Certificate in Passive Shield Tanking. This certificate represents a standard level of competence in passive shield tanking. It certifies that the holder is able to use Tech 1 shield-related low slot modules, such as Power Diagnostic Units. The holder is aware that increasing both maximum shield capacity and base recharge rate improve the overall recharge rate. With this certificate you can configure your ship's regeneration to absorb significant amounts of incoming damage.
This is a very cool certificate to achieve because I had to wait a long time in order to achieve it.

The War is finally over!
After a long week of bitter fighting, the war finally comes to a close. With the war over we can finally get back to business. During the war a fellow corp member showed me this one system where the rocks are huge and its isolated from alot of people. The perfect spot to start mining and make the money I need to repurchase the ships I lost during the war.

The war rages on!
So far this war has gone on for at least a week. Already both sides are suffering losses. However, its mostly our side. Carthage Industries's pilots are very good at PvP and we just aren't. At present count I have lost 2 Interceptors (they are really fast starfighters) and my Viator Transport ship. That's close to about 133,000,000 dollars. That doesn't include the modules that I had on them so its alittle bit more than that.
Friday, April 30, 2010
The Letter
We received the equivalent of an ultimatum from Carthage Industries. They believe that we are a "ripe target and militarily weak" If we don't give them 1 billion dollars they will kill us. The letter itself is almost hillarious because its loaded without right lies. Our corp leader took one look at this letter and called 1 billion an actual insult. We have nothing to worry about.
The War has begun!
Today is the first day of the war and already the causalities have already started coming in. Our corp is no match for Carthage Industries. However, this is expected and planned for. Our corp has been at war many times with other corps so we know what to expect. We may not have the battle experience and hardware but we do have the industrial might to outlast them.

WAR!!!!
Today, a PVP corp Carthage Industries has declared war on my corp. Mostly this corp is just looking for easy pickings and is just overall trouble. As long as the war is going on, they can attack us time and anywhere. The toughest part is that it can be very costly because they can destroy multiple ships and they can kill you as well. War is hell and hell is war.

Ship Destroyed!
I lost a exhumer class mining barge today. This is THE ship I use for corp mining. I was looking for better ore and I couldn't find any. So I tried going to a low sec area, which also didn't have any. As I was trying to leave, I see a battleship in the rear view sensors. I knew from the start that this ship was trouble. However, there was nothing I could have done to prevent it. So the enemy battleship attacked me and I lost my ship.

New Ship Ready for deployment
Today I bought a new Viator transport ship. This is what it looks like. The great part about this ship is that I can install a cloaking generator on it. It will make it invisible to enemy ships. I plan on using it during war time. I can move stuff without worrying about getting blown up with my precious cargo. I named my new ship Serenity, from the TV series Firefly. She may not look like much but she's got it where it counts.

Level 4 Mission Run
I was in a fleet of corp buddies today doing level 4 missions. These are really tough missions. In the first pic I was flying in formation with my corp buddies. The second pic im giving a broadside to a Megathron Battleship. It was cool. The last two pics are of a hanger that I blew up by accident. With all the shooting there was alot of collateral damage.

New certificates awarded!
Today, I was able to skill up enough to receive two new certificates. These certificates are the Standard level High Velocity Helmsman and the Elite level Gallente Military Soldier class. The descriptions of the certificates are listed below.
The High Velocity Helmsman certificate represents a standard level of competence in enhanced-velocity piloting. It certifies that the holder can use all Afterburners and tech 1Microwarpdrives, and all low-slot modules contributing to velocity. The holder is aware that Microwarpdrives are often non-functional inside Deadspace areas. This is a useful skill set if you occasionally want more speed than a regular Afterburner can provide.
The Gallente Military Certificate is the final step of the Federation Navy Academy graduate program for Soldier specialists. It certifies that the holder of the certificate has qualified for Gallente Crusier-class vessels such as the Thorax, and is capable of using the relevant offense and defensive systems. Crusier-sized vessels are well suited to tackling more profitable Level 2 missions in the hands of compentent pilots.

The Resolute
Mining where no one has mined before!
Today, I journeyed all the way to the Pain System. Its a small system thats in the low security areas. When I arrived I found the motherload of all asteroid belts. You can see a picture of the asteriod field. The only down side is that since it is in a low sec area, the low sec areas are infested with deadly pirates.

Test Flying the Hyperion
Today I tried out the Hyperion Battleship I named Resolute. I joined up with a bunch of corp buddies and tried out a lv 4 mission. It was a good place to test out the Resolute's combat capabilites. I noticed that while the Resolute was able to easily decimate the enemy ships it had a slow rate of fire and the damage itself didn't take down the enemy ships fast enough. This is expected because I haven't worked on the battleships gunnery skills for awhile. Despite the drawbacks, it was actually very cool to see the enemy ships blow up like popcorn.

Skill up in Eve
I had some skills level up today. Skills level up differently in EvE Online than they do in games like World of Warcraft. Unlike WoW I don't have to sit in front of the computer and kill endless monsters in order to level up. Eve is skill up over time. It's kind of cool because I can be in class or at work and Im leveling my character. The only downside is that some skills take much longer to level than others do. Today I leveled the skill Astrometric Pinpointing to level 2 and each skill maxs out at level 5. This skill gives greater accuracy when hunting down targets through scanning. Basically, It will allow me to locate objects like WH's alot easier than before.

The WH Op
The Wh op is going smoothly. I had some trouble getting my mining ship into the wormhole. The corp set up a mobile station to make a base camp. When I arrived I couldn't find my mining ship and when I finally found it all the of modules on it were also missing. However, eventually it was all sorted out and we got started mining. We had the ENTIRE corporation in the Wh mining all the rare ore. We mined literally all day. I think the toughest part of the op was the hauling of the ore out of the Wh. The corp set up these emmitters that make it impossible to warp directly to wormhole. The porpose of these emitters is to make any unfriendly ships unable to move and they would be stuck. Then we can take them out so that the corp would be protected. Everytime I had to pass through the Wh I had to stop and travel at normal speed. Other than that, the entire op was AWESOME!

Mining Fleet
Im in the middle of another mining op. I wanted to show what a typical mining fleet looks like. Im in the middle of the screen. To the right is the Orca. Its kind of like a corporate storage facility for mining ops. The ship on top is the hauler. After the miners have a cargo hold full of ore they jettison it into space so that the hauler can pick it up and move it to the orca. Its really cool.
Promotion
Due to my experience and dedication the corp's exec as promoted me from just a general member to a junior exec. :)
Wormhole Op Tomorrow
The corp is going to do a wormhole mining op tomorrow. These are incredibly dangerous because there are craft called "sleepers" they are incredibly powerful and they lie in wait for unsuspecting vessels then they attack and try destroy them. However, if this mining op is successful. They payout can easily be in the billions. Which is a good thing. Another danger to wh mining is that the wormhole is unstable and you could be trapped in the far reaches of space. Lost in space can be a reality!!

Red Shirt Award
Today I have been awarded the Redshirt Award. This award is given to pilots who die repeatedly in the line of duty regardless of personal cost.
I was awarded this because our corp was at war with another corp awhile back and I was attacked by enemy pilots. I was flying an unarmed 800 million dollar freighter at the time and I set the self destruct and got to a escape pod and was able to escape certain death.

I started a mining op in the Alentene solar system today. With a bunch of my fellow pilots we mined asteroids for ore and then split the profits with the corporation that we are with. Im flying a Retriever mining barge. This is what it looks like. Its not the best barge in the world but its better than nothing. The asteroid field we are mining is comprised of Veldspar and Sordite. Both of which are easy to mine but are low grade kinds of astroids.
First Post
Hello All!
This is my first online blog so I have some explaining to do.
This blog is going to be an online diary of an online game I play Eve Online. Its a space warfare game that is fun to play and stuff is always happening. My pilot Kefkan Brighthope is always up to something so I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to read and comment on anything that sounds interesting to you.
