Passive Income Collection

I did some research and found out that instead of doing mining or flying out in a star ship there is another way to make money. Sure, you could go out into space and kill stuff or mine asteroids for days on end, but when when the day is done you can only make so much and it just isn't enough. The typical battleship on the market runs for 100,000,000 isk. It's allot of in game money and earning a single mil here or there just isn't going to work. So there are two ways to set up passive revenue streams. One is by using planetary interaction and the other is by using research agents.

By using research agents, I can collect data cores which I can then sell for isk. The great thing about research  agents is that they work with little or no interaction from me and even when the game is turned off they are hard at work making me money.

The second way is using the planetary interaction system to manufacture items planet side and then ship them off world.

Both ways are great and work well with mining and missions.

Brand New Battle Cruiser

At the beginning of the year there was a new update and in that new update a brand new battle-cruiser was released. This new battlecruiser is called the Talos. The Talos is a cross-breed between a battleship and cruiser. You get the big guns of a battleship and the speed of a cruiser. So you get the best of both worlds. The downside is that in order to use the battleship guns you have to sacrifice the durability that battleship would normally have. Also this ship is the most expensive of all the battlecruisers.

This particular battlecruiser reminds me alot of the Destiny from Stargate Universe. It has alot of engines in the back and glides through space. Another great advantage of this ship is that if you fit it with an upgraded propulsion system such as a Microwarp Drive or Afterburnner, this ship can really MOVE! Almost 1,000 miles/second! That is really FAST for a battlecruiser.

In order to obtain this beautiful ship, I had to sell my Hyperion battleship in order to get it. Not only was I able to get my Talos but I also was able to get an original blueprint of a Brutix Battlecruiser. Its my favorite battlecruiser and I tend to fly it alot. Having the original blueprint will help cut down on purchasing a new Brutix everytime someone blows it up.

Blueprint Originals

I wanted to take the time to talk about Blueprints in Eve Online. Eve tends to be very PvP oriented. There have been many times where I would pay alot of money for a brand new ship only to see it blow up from afar by from an enemy pilot. It can be very expensive to get the ship replaced. By purchasing a blueprint of your favorite ships, you can save alot of money because you wouldn't have to rebuy your ship and get it refitted.

Another benefit of having an original of a blueprint is that you can copy it and research it. You can then sell the copies for money or you can research your original to make it more efficient. The only downside to researching a blueprint is that it does take time to get any real results.

Depending on which kind of blueprint you have it will save you money in the long run. However, blueprints do tend to be more expensive overall. If you do get one it is worth saving, especially if you have the skills trained to use it more effectively. I personally am hoping to get my hands on a Brutix Battlecrusier blueprint, I do like that ship type more so than any other.

Cleaning House

After a long haitus, I return to the space lanes. I've been gone for so long that I have noticed that I have alot of stuff that I have accumulated from all over the galaxy. From spare parts to engine manifolds to even spare bits of ore, all this has been scattered all over different stations. So, I decided to clean house and sell some stuff. This will allow me to stay in a more localized part of the galaxy as well as reduce travel time.

Also on another note a new battle crusier has just been developed and is now for sale! I haven't had a chance to pilot it yet however, it looks really AWESOME! I can't wait to fly it!

A first step toward capital ships

Ever since I first started playing Eve Online, I wanted to fly the big capital ships. More specifically the carriers. They were big and cool looking and would be really awesome to have. However they requirements to actually fly one of those is quite intense! After alot of skill training I've finally gotten to the point to where I can almost fly one! There is one small snag, however, I still have one skill left to train and then I have to purchase the skill book to actually fly one of the carriers. The skillbook itself can easily run up to 450 million isk! Then if you add in the cost to actually purchase a carrier thats an addition 450 million isk on top of that! That's alot of money! Even if I don't get that kind of cash, I still can benefit from all the skills that I have to learn. On a side note, all that skill training is really paying off. I can now fly frigates, crusiers, battlecrusiers, and battleships so well that I can fly them in my sleep! Not only that but I can also use the T2 guns on all my ships which is way better that the basic T1 guns. Using the T2 guns I can solo level 4 missions and sleeper sites over and over. I can't wait to see the money from doing that!

Surviving on the edge

Living in a wormhole has been very difficult, however strangely enough I find that Im starting to get the hang of it. Some of my corp buddies found an asteroid belt and we went mining in wormhole space. The ore here is the best of the best! A pilot can easily make several 100 million isk by mining and killing sleepers. Just the other day I was able to clear a site full of sleeper drones. It was very difficult and it took a while but in the end I was able to kill them all. Its proof that I can not only survive out in the middle of nowhere but also thrive.

Wormhole Frustrations

I had some trouble going into the wormhole today. Wormholes are always shifting so they are never in the same place twice. You only have so much time before the wormhole collapses in one system and reopens in another. That is what happened to me today. I was trying to get my covert ops ship, my Megathron battleship, and my cloaking transport all to the system where the wormhole is located. I can use the covert ops to scout the wormhole areas and find things to do. I could then send the battleship to clear those areas. Then send the transport to bring all the loot back to the station. However, by the time I got all those ships into the system, the wormhole closed up on me! To add to my frustration, the wormhole opened on the other end of the galaxy! So rather than moving all my ships to the system where the wormhole was, I decided to wait and see if the wormhole will open somewhere closer to where I was. It beats having to move each ship 32 jumps and back.
